Welcome to the Reineke Group
The Reineke Group conducts groundbreaking research in the fields of Nucleic Acid Delivery, Sustainable Polymers, and Macromolecular Assemblies. Our research is highly interdisciplinary and encompasses the fields of chemistry, chemical biology, materials science, engineering, and nanoscience. Members of the Reineke Group specialize in the synthetic design, molecular characterization, properties, and biological study of novel macromolecule formulations. Our research efforts are interdisciplinary in nature and encompass the areas of chemistry, materials science, engineering, nanoscience, and chemical biology.
Group members with a Nucleic Acid Delivery focus design and develop ionizable materials formulations to effectively encapsulate and transport nucleic acids into tissues. Members with a Sustainable Polymers focus help reduce the global plastics and microplastics problem by utilizing natural products to design and develop benign materials for home, personal care, and packaging applications that can be biodegraded or recycled. Group members with a Macromolecular Assemblies focus research the fundamentals of dictating the structure and function of materials composed of small, medium, and large molecular architectures.
